WORKSHOPS

My regular 'how to draw animals' workshops are run in two locations in Devon, UK. One location being in Exeter, and the other geared towards wildlife drawing, is held in the grounds of Dartmoor Zoological Park (as featured recently on the BBC's Ben's Zoo). I am a self-taught artist, and the skills I have developed are easy to explain and demonstrate, and will improve you drawing techniques straight away no matter what level you are already at. I have used many different pencil and paper types, and can recommend which ones to use for a desired 'feel' to your portrait, as well as supplying the materials I have come to use myself. Throughout the course you will learn the basics of how to use the humble pencil to represent many textures and details, as well as many useful hints and tips. How to interpret what you see when you look at an animal and us that to make your drawings leap off the page. Depending on the class, participants can work from my own photographs using rough outlines already transfered onto drawing paper, or participants can draw from life within a zoo (weather dependant!) where you will be working close to wolves, lions and tigers!

Cost
